Nicole Schwartz Navratil (b. 1982) is a composer, musician, and nonprofit collaborator based in Minneapolis. She holds a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and spent 15 years teaching in a variety of settings. Nicole has released original music as a solo artist (Nikki Black) and performs folk and Americana with her band, Sonic Love Child. She’s thrilled to now be writing and sharing her own choral compositions and was honored to be part of the International Choral Composers Institute in 2025 and 2026. Passionate about the arts as a force for equity, community, and well-being, Nicole adores the creative journey and connecting with fellow artists. She’s a proud mama to two young boys and loves reading, traveling, and time with her family.
